Practice-based Knowledge (PbK) refers to the valuable insights gained through direct engagement in childhood sexual violence (CSV) prevention or response. It includes knowledge from practitioners, as well as from those with lived expertise – when the experience of receiving support, navigating systems, or surviving harm is intentionally drawn upon to influence or improve practice.
Often informal and sometimes undocumented, PbK is not limited to those with formal credentials. PbK strengthens CSV prevention and response by complementing and enriching other forms of knowledge.
