The 5th World Congress on Justice With Children, organised by the Global Initiative JWC, brought together stakeholders from across the globe to address critical challenges faced by child justice systems.
Ending childhood sexual violence requires discussions and actions led by global leaders and experts, child justice practitioners, policymakers, academics, civil society representatives, as well as children and young people themselves.
The Safe Futures Hub attended the World Congress on Justice with Children in Madrid, Spain, in June 2025. Along with Terres des Hommes Netherlands and Kenya's National Council on the Administration of Justice, we facilitated a 1.5-hour workshop on Advancing Child-Centred Justice, focusing on building an inclusive knowledge and evidence base for preventing and responding to child sexual violence.
Along with presenting the Safe Futures Hub evidence review and sharing the content of the draft practice-based knowledge framework, the workshop involved the sharing of on-ground practice-based learning used to improve children’s access to justice in Kenya. The workshop, attended by 30 participants, received positive feedback.
