SVRI Forum 2026

The SVRI Forum 2026 will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 5 – 9 October 2026.

The SVRI Forum is the world’s leading abstract-driven conference on research, evidence, and solutions to prevent and respond to violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of gender-based violence.

Held every two years, this action-driven event brings together over 1,500 global stakeholders, researchers, practitioners, survivors, policymakers, funders, and activists to share cutting-edge research, challenge the status quo, and co-create solutions for a world free from violence.

Workshop: Evidence, practice, and lived experience for child sexual abuse prevention

This full-day workshop brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, survivor advocates, funders, and field-building organizations to explore how more inclusive knowledge ecosystems can strengthen efforts to prevent and respond to child sexual violence.

From practice-based learning to action: Feminist praxis in the face of backlash 

October 5, 2pm - 5pm 

This participatory workshop will explore how practice-based learning and knowledge (PBL/K) can protect space, shift narratives, and build solidarity. Through collective reflection, storytelling, and group dialogue, participants will examine how feminist knowledge practices are sustaining movements and shaping new partnerships in crisis. The session will build on earlier Forum discussions and end with provocations to guide ongoing action and learning.

Power of participation: Enhancing ethical, youth-centered participatory research in childhood sexual violence 

October 5, 9am-12pm 

Through a mix of theoretical framing, real-world case studies, and participatory exercises, the session offers an entry point into ethical and trauma-informed approaches to child and youth participation in research. The session will feature experiential learning to explore key participatory principles such as power-sharing, safeguarding, and co-creating research with young people, while also developing a clearer understanding of how to effectively integrate these principles throughout all research stages, including design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
